Backup in the new version are automatic. Access was a bit of a pain so you should upgrade.
Select the Text File / Backup current text file button on the 1-Menus page to create an exact copy of your current database; just in case. An identical file with the word 'yourname_backup' is created in the same directory as your existing data file.
Or simply copy the .mdb file to another location as a backup.
We also recommend you do this before you compress a data file.

If you make lots of changes to the data then you will find that, over time, the size of the webdata.mdb will increase. For the best performance you should regularly compact the webdata.mdb file.
Select the Text File / Compact text file button and this window should appear.
Select MS Access Database from the list and then press Configure.

Click the Compact button and select the data file you want to compact. By default this should be located in the same directory that you have installed Pure SEO-CMS into and called webtext.mdb.
Make sure that this data file is not already open in Pure SEO-CMS or you will not be able to compact it. You may have to close Pure SEO-CMS.
You can compact to a new file to be safe or overwrite your existing text data file. Sometimes there may be an 'incorrect version' error in which case you will need to select a different version number from the check boxes on the right hand side, probably 4.
The compact utility is not part of Pure SEO-CMS and can be opened without the program running by simply.
Start by selecting START\SETTINGS\CONTROL PANEL\ODBC or START\SETTINGS\CONTROL PANEL\ADMINIXTRATION TOOLS\ODBC
Select MS Access Database from the list and then press Configure.
Click the Compact button and select the data file you want to compact.
